New Sigur Rós Album Released in Spring 2012
The band Sigur Rós has finished the recordings of their 7th album. Fréttablaðið talked with keyboard player Kjartan Sveinsson. The album will be released in April or May 2012. Tour in August.

Sigtryggur Baldursson managing director of Iceland Music Export
The new managing director of Iceland Music Export is Sigtryggur Baldursson, founding member of The Sugarcubes and the legendary Smekkleysa (Bad Taste) label.
Baldursson, a highly respected drummer and composer, who has also played with Þeyr, Kukl and his own percussive duo Steintryggur, replaces Anna Hildur Hildibrandsdottir who, after five great years at the helm of IMX, is moving on to take up the exciting new position of programme director for NOMEX: the Nordic Music Export.
Some words from our new head honcho... "I am very excited and honoured to be taking over the bridge of IMX in the wake of Anna Hildur Hildibrandsdottir´s good work in building the office from scratch in 2007.
"I won´t attempt to fill her shoes, (she is a size 5) but am content with entering a well honed organization that is moving along at a good pace. The crew is well trained and are mostly surviving on algae and photosynthesis.
"My first attempts at having a business card made out with the moniker "Grand Supreme Glorious Leader, Lord of Lords and most beloved Son of the Sun" have not met with favour, so I shall have to settle for managing director."
Such is life! Everyone here at IMX would like to give a hearty welcome to Sigtryggur, and extend our appreciation and very best wishes to Anna for her new role!
