Concert against heavy industry
Campaign group Saving Iceland is organizing a concert at nightclub NASA in Reykjavík to support environment protection and to protest against large-scale industrial projects in Iceland.
Performers include Ólöf Arnalds, Múm, Skátar, Strakovsky Horo, Dimma, Reykjavík!, Velvet Ego, Dj Árni Sveins, Captain Tobias Hume, Sigtryggur Baldursson aka Bogomil Font and Friends,Magga Stína, Rúnar Júl, Ellen Eythórs, Ms. Silla and Mongoose, Bloodgroup, Evil Madness and Retro Stefson.
Tickets will be sold at the entrance and cost ISK 2,500 (USD 40, EUR 30). All profits go to environment protection and all performing artists donate their work to support Saving Iceland’s cause. The concert begins at 8 pm.
Saving Iceland is also organizing a protest camp in Iceland for the third time this summer and a conference on the global impact of heavy industry and large-scale dams, June 7 to 8.
