Lovísa Elísabet Sigrúnardóttir a.k.a. Lay Low has officially started work on her highly anticipated follow up to the platinum-selling "Please Don’t Hate Me". Lovisa is currently recording with producer Liam Watson at ToeRag Studios in London, alongside musicians Ed Turner, Carwyn Ellis, Rupert Brown, Matt Radford and BJ Cole. The new album, as yet untitled, will be released in Iceland on October 16th.
Lay Low fans may also like to know that the singer also released an album earlier this year. Called "Ökutímar - Music from the play performed by Lay Low" the record features music that Lovisa performed and wrote for the theater staging of "How I Learned To Drive" by Paula Vogel at Leikfélag Akureyrar.
Lovisa was a musical director for the play and performed the music on stage as well. The album includes five original tracks in Icelandic and eight Dolly Parton covers all performed by Lay Low. Lay Low was nominated for the Icelandic Theater Awards "Griman" for the music and she picked up the prize - beating Nick Cave and Warren Ellis while at it.
